COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION

The Practice is improving how we communicate with patients.  Please tell us if you need information in a different format or require communication support.

TARGET TRAINING DAY

The surgery will be CLOSED for training purposes from 12 noon on Thursday 22nd June 2017. If you need a doctor urgently whilst we are closed please ring NHS 111.  In an emergency telephone 999 for an ambulance.  The surgery will re-open at 8 am on Friday morning.

 

SEXUAL HEALTH CLINICS

ON-LINE APPOINTMENTS & PRESCRIPTIONS!! - You can book your appointment on-line, up to 3 months in advance & also request repeat prescriptions.  Ask at reception for a password.  All appointments with the doctors are 10 minutes, if you have several problems to discuss please ask for a longer appointment. 

CHLAMYDIA Testing for males & females aged 16-25.

Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection that often has no symptoms.

The test is a simple, painless, self taken swab for females and a urine test for men - ask your doctor, nurse or receptionist for a testing kit.

Why should I be tested?

To stop the spread of infection & prevent fertility problems in the future.  Every time  you change your sexual partner you should get a test

The treatment is a short course of strong antibiotics.

FREE CONDOMS

If you are over 16 you can collect free condoms from the surgery. 

Ask your doctor, nurse, or receptionist.

You can ring the receptionist and arrange to collect your condoms from reception.

If you are aged 13-16 you can collect free condoms from the surgery - please contact the surgery to arrange with the Health Care Assistant.

 

Appointments — Telephone 0113 2001090 If your first language is not English, and you are unable to bring someone with you to translate, please tell the receptionist and we will arrange to use our telephone translation service during your consultation.

calendarWe operate an advanced access appointment system. Early morning appointments, and some evening appointments may be booked up to 3 months in advance.All other appointments with the doctors may be booked on the same day from 8 am.

Some appointments may be booked on-line.   You need to call into the surgery first so that we may give you a password and user id.

You may make an appointment by phoning or calling in the surgery between 8am and 8pm. Please remember that appointments are for one patient only. If you find that you no longer need your appointment, please tell us so that it can be given to someone else.  You can cancel your appointment by ringing the surgery - if we are closed you can leave a message, and we will pick it up the next morning. 

GENUINELY URGENT CASES WILL ALWAYS BE SEEN ON THE SAME DAY, BUT NOT ALWAYS BY A DOCTOR OF YOUR CHOICE.
